Five-Ingredient Fried Fish

This recipe was shared to me by a family friend over a turkey hunting and bass fishing weekend. Since then it is a go to whenever I have fresh bass or bluegill. Very simple and easy to do, I often pack these ingredients with me when I go on a fishing trip. This is also a great one for camping when you pack your cast iron skillet over a campfire.

 

Recipe:

Prep time: 5 Minutes    Cook Time: 6 Minutes    Serving size: 3-4

- 4lbs Bass or bluegill fillets

- 2T Lawry’s seasoned salt

- 1/4C Mayonnaise

- 1/4C Flour

- 1/2C Vegetable Oil

 

Add oil to a large skillet and set to medium heat.

Wash the fillets and pat dry with a paper towel. In a large bowl add mayonnaise and fillets and coat the fillets. In another bowl combined flour and seasoned salt. Remove each fillet individually and coat in flour mixture.

Add fillets to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until each side is golden brown. Remove the fillets and set on a drying rack to allow excess oil to drip off (This is key to a crispy fish!).  Plate with lemon wedges if you prefer and Enjoy!
