Smoked Quail


Smoked quail is a simple way to prepare whole quail for numerous types of meals, or even to be plated as is. With this preparation the meat is flavored only by the smoke and the bird, keeping options open to utilize as you like.


Prep Time: 5 min.    Cook Time: 4 Hrs    Serving size: 4-6

- 8 Quail - Whole, Skinned

- 2T Avocado oil, additional for brushing.

- 1t Salt

- Hickory Wood Chips


Place quail into a sealable container and add avocado oil and salt. Coat thoroughly. Place quail into smoker and cook at 200 F until internal temperature reaches 165 F, about 3-4 hours. remove from smoker and rest for 10 minutes under foil. Preheat Barbecue on high.  Brush the quail with a light coat of avocado oil and sear the outside for 30-60 seconds on each side. serve whole or use in sandwiches, burritos, quesadillas, etc. Enjoy!
