Smokin’ Hot Legs


Here’s something you don’t see everyday. Frog legs marinated in your favorite hot sauce, smoked for a few hours, crisped and then devoured in minutes. A perfect finger food that surprises the guests with wonderful heat and smokey meat that will probably shock people after they realize what they are enjoying.


Prep time: 5 Minutes Cook time: 4 Hours Serving Size: 3-4

- 8-12 frog legs

- 1/4c hot sauce - your favorite or make your own

- 1/2t salt - I use alea Hawaiian salt

- Avocado oil to coat

- Hickory wood chips


Marinade frog legs in hot sauce for about 4 hours. Soak wood chips in water for 15 minutes before use. 

Set smoker to 165-200.

Remove frog legs from hot sauce and place in the smoker for 3-4 hours.

Remove frog legs from smoker and heat the smoker or barbeque to the highest temp.

Lightly brush the legs with avocado oil and apply salt. Sear on each side for about 30 seconds to crisp the exterior. Enjoy!
